Detroit won two of three meetings with San Francisco the last time these two clubs met from June 16-18, 2008 at AT&T Park. The Giants have won seven of the last 11 matchups in this series.

 

Juan Pierre knocked in the game's only run and Philip Humber got the better of Matt Garza in the pitchers' duel.
